Maria Ramsay is a graduate of the Mason Gross School of the Arts, Rutgers University where she received her Bachelor’s degree in music education. Her recent musical pursuits include orchestral, chamber, and solo performances, at concerts, private events and parties. She is currently concertmistress of both the Freelance Ensemble Artists of New Jersey Orchestra and the Tim Keyes Consort, plays in the Livingston Symphony Orchestra and does freelance work for local ensembles. Over her musical career, notable performance venues have included Carnegie Hall, the New Jersey Performing Arts Center, and Lincoln Center.
Past teaching experiences include private violin and viola instruction since 1999, chamber music coach and violin instructor for the New Jersey Youth Symphony Summer Music Camp, and administrator and instructor for Summer Strings, which provided ensemble experience and instruction in classical music and fiddling for young string players. She currently teaches orchestra full time in the Bridgewater-Raritan school district.
