Paula Roper – Executive Director
Paula has vast experience in working in the non-profit field as well as in business. After graduating from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro with a B.S in Mathematics her career started at IBM and then Procter & Gamble working in such technical areas as systems engineering, data center management and technical writing. Her nonprofit experience included Director of Christian Education at Calvary Episcopal Church, Parish Administrator at Grace Episcopal Church, Trustee and officer of New Jersey Youth Chorus, and producer of the New Providence High School Spring Musical for the New Providence Board of Education from 2014-2016.
Mary Beth Sweet – Administrator
Mary Beth Sweet has served as the Administrator of NJIO since 2012. Prior to that, she had a long a varied career in the non-profit world. Most recently, Mary Beth was a volunteer parent manager for five different ensembles within New Jersey Youth Symphony, as well as serving as librarian, summer camp manager and parent manager of the 2014 tour of Austria. Mary Beth was also the Administrator and later Personnel Director of Fountain House, a psychiatric rehabilitation center in New York City, where she worked for fourteen years. She graduated from Smith College with a degree in Victorian Studies. Mary Beth lives in Union with her two children, Megan, a cellist and Roger, a violist.
